The idea of providing wheelchairs for disabled kids in
distressing circumstances was originally formed at the Rotary Club of Surfers
Sunrise with chairs made partly of components retrieved from salvaged
bicycles. Other Rotary Clubs joined and the
project grew. The Rotary Club of Scarborough, Western Australia and the
Christian Brothers, initially partly financed by the Rotary Club of Surfers
Sunrise, took the project a stage further by developing a low cost model made

who have been tortured or traumatized by violent conflicts. Many of our
clients are recent arrivals to Australia, although our services are available
to all survivors whatever the length of their residence in Australia has

exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with
the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a
